So last night I was helping my girl at her networking event, which basically consisted of me toting boxes from her car to her display table. The atmosphere was nice (a furniture store), and there was food, wine and other goodies to sample.
Anyway, one of her networking ladies owns a jewelry store and had some very nice samples on display. They thought it would be funny to pull me upstairs to look at the shiny stuff while Jorene was downstairs. So while I was up there I bought a nice pair of earrings for her (which went into my pocket), and a fun pair of BSU Bronco earrings for her. I had Anita (the owner) put them in one of her big black jewelry bags and went back downstairs. There were oooh's and ahh's from some ladies when I set the back on a table and Jorene saw it was a jewelry bag. She finally opened it and started laughing because she saw the orange and blue earrings. "You guys were just messing with me!" Indeed, because the real earrings were in my pocket.
Now here's the part that I want to know if this happens to you. When I do stuff like that, or sometimes give my sweetie a smooch on the cheek in public, or maybe whisper a sweet nothing in her ear, she kinda gets embarrassed and turns her head away from me. All I get to see is the back of her head! I miss her cute little smile! In fact, if she's reading this now she's probably shaking her head with a little smile on her face and turning a bit red. I knew it! I can totally see you doing that now!
Oh, I gave her the other earrings later. She liked them. And I got to see the back of her head again. ;-)

You're such a smooth operator.
Did you know that in keltic lore, showing someone the back of your head was an insult?
