Ferrari's Formula 1 team enjoyed tremendous success with Ross Brawn as its technical director. Now Brawn (after a year sabbatical) is taking over at Honda. How much is he getting paid? - Well, Brawn's Honda salary will be performance-dependent, which he said is a 'great incentive' to deliver for the Japanese giant.
Do you hear that all you under-performing CEO's? Performance dependent. Hey, I'll take over at Merrill Lynch if you can get a $160 million payday after posting an $8 Billion (yes, that's with a "B") loss.
Anyhoo, we'll see if old Ross can muster the same magic that helped win Ferrari several world titles. Let's hope the first thing he does is get rid of that horrible "Earth First" livery that the cars had. Unless you're using bio-fuels or racing a hybrid, seems a tad hypocritical to be jet-setting the world and racing your cars under the guise of "educating" us morons about the "earth's delicate environment". Blech.
